This handle can be substituted to the original one on any ball valve fitted with an ISO mounting pad. This device aims to enhance user safety and process traceability.

It comprises a bent support along whom a retractable handle and a latch slide, both held in position by retracting springs. 

Thus, the valve is locked in closed position as long as the sliding half of the handle is not completely extended.

It is possible to spot each valve with an ident label placed on the sliding handle. In extended position, the handle then uncovers the bent support on which a barcode label enables to confirm previous visual identification.

In this position, once the sliding handle is engaged in the safety catch, the handle can be freely rotated. 

Once the sampling is completed and the handle returned in closed position, the sliding handle must be released from the safety catch to allow return to its initial position thanks to the return spring. The valve can however be closed even if the handle is already retracted.
